Position Summary: The Development Assistant for the Growth and Strategic Partnerships team will provide essential support in prospect research, portfolio management, stewardship, corporate engagement, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about making a difference in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prospect Research:
    • Conduct thorough research on potential donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
    • Compile and maintain detailed profiles on prospects, including giving history, interests, and connections to Learning Ally’s mission.
    • Support the identification and prioritization of high-potential individual prospects.
  2. Portfolio Management:
    • Manage a portfolio of funders under $25K to bring in philanthropic revenue for Learning Ally
    • Assist in managing donor portfolios, including tracking interactions and next steps in Salesforce.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all donor and partner activities.
    • Support the Development team in preparing for meetings with donors and partners.
  3. Stewardship:
    • Draft and personalize acknowledgment letters to thank donors and partners for their contributions.
    • Coordinate stewardship events, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees.
    • Assist in developing and executing strategies to engage and retain donors and partners.
  4. Corporate Engagement:
    • Support the Corporate Relations team in planning and execution of corporate engagement events, including logistics, communications, and follow-up.
    • Help identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners that align with Learning Ally’s mission.
  5. Project Support:
    • Provide administrative support for various projects within the Growth and Strategic Partnerships team.
    • Assist with special initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in development, fundraising, ed-tech or a related area.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Zoom, and familiarity with donor management software (Salesforce).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to Learning Ally’s mission.
