About the Team

Payment Channels Technology: We are responsible for delivering client facing solutions that act as channels allowing Payment Initiation for our corporate and institutional clients across the world. Corporate Bank Technology has embarked on a multi-year technology refresh program that includes revitalization of "Channel" applications for payment initiation. As a Lead Engineer, you will be working on driving the development of global payment initiation platform that has React based micro frontends backed by Java powered micro-services deployed in a containerized environment. The platform uses event streaming over Kafka and varied datastores such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, HBase, MongoDB amongst other open-source software. You'll collaborate with other Senior Engineers, Lead Engineers and Analysts on the platform using agile practices to incrementally add functionality to the platform and with a sharp focus on automation.  You will partner with business and technology managers to define modules and enhancements to the application stack that provides Deutsche Bank's institutional clients ability to initiate payments in real time and access to their account balances & statements in near real time. You will enable the digital environment that helps our people share their knowledge, expertise, and real passion for our business. Your Role

What You’ll Do

As part of our global team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the technology roadmap for one or more platforms enabling Payment initiation and interdependent platform interfaces. Your role will include hands on engineering activities as well as leading and coaching our global development team distributed into multiple squads working in an agile fashion. In this role - you’ll also be driving engineering culture, cloud first strategy for new applications and operationalization of the platforms.

Key responsibilities include

  • Provide leadership and direction for the development of proposals and delivery of initiatives, in collaboration with clients and colleagues, for all new implementation projects
  • Provide thought leadership and direction for a team of full-stack engineers, DevOps and SRE
  • Coach our delivery teams in modern engineering practices so that time to production is optimized. These delivery teams include engineers with capability in full-stack engineering, SRE and DevSecOps
  • Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline
  • Strive to Contribute towards a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team and beyond
  • Collaborate with other teams to build systems and integrate them together. Collaborate with others across the department to share ideas, skills, and code. Create and participate in communities of practice across Deutsche Bank technology
  • Ensure that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production
  • Possess a good understanding of Cloud concepts

Skills & Qualifications:

Technology Skills:

  • 15-20 years of technical and functional experience in financial industry app development with technologies such as: Java, SpringBoot, React JS, Kafka, Cloud, CI/CD, DevSecOps, Test Automation, Temporal, MongoDB, amongst others
  • Progressive engineering hands on development experience to lead engineering teams
  • Experience running high availability low latency platforms
  • Strong Agile skills with running Dev Ops, IT Risk and control, SRE squads
  • Experience in cloud technology and preferably GCP

Team Management:

  • Experience with people development with respect to training, upskilling, providing right opportunities within India and global squads
  • Promotes engineering culture and improves productivity amongst India FTE and vendor staff. Grooms and coaches the team providing proper career progression
  • Dynamic resource management and close collaboration with Corporate Bank (CB) global tribe/squad leads
  • Excellent skills and appetite to maintain risk & control hygiene. Streamline IT Application Ownership processes with appropriate automation
  • Will require broader promotion of people strategy activities within CB Tech India
  • Partner with teams involved in recruitment of talent to enable organic growth of team(s)

Stakeholder/Business Management:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to work with India operations, EMEA/APAC business leaders.
  • Knowledge in Banking Payment systems and/or Transaction Screening or AFC capabilities will be a huge plus.
