Deep Learning Engineer (Remote - US)

Compound Eye enables machines to understand their surroundings in 3D and in real time using only passive sensors like cameras and IMUs. Our VIDAS™ technology takes video from automotive-grade cameras and outputs a dense, semantic 3D representation of the world that vehicles and robots can use to navigate their environment. VIDAS is a fully redundant alternative to LiDAR and radar. Compound Eye has customers in automotive, agriculture, healthcare, and defense and is backed by Khosla Ventures and other leading investors.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, train, and deploy state-of-the-art networks for semantic segmentation, object detection, depth estimation, SLAM, and other tasks related to 3D scene understanding. 
• Help to recruit and onboard similarly-qualified engineers.

To thrive in this role you have:

• Strong foundation in machine learning.
• 3+ years of academic or professional experience in developing and implementing deep learning pipelines for images or video.
• Fluent in Python.
• Deep knowledge of PyTorch.

Nice to have but definitely not required:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant majors.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong engineering practices.
• Familiar with C++.
• Experience with self-supervised learning techniques.
• Experience in optimizing NNs for constrained platforms (mobile or embedded).
