Your missions

Job Summary

The SHIFT-LEFT/Pre-Silicon Emulation/Verification Lead would set technical direction for SoC emulation teams in the US, including subcontractors located worldwide. Responsibilities include enhancing build/debug emulation methodology and flows , develop capabilities to run simulation testbench with emulation build,  working with design/verification teams for XTOR building, selecting hardware, interfacing with software/platform teams, and setting high-level technical vision. Projects span a variety of business lines and will need to meet both verification and system/software enablement goals. Engagement and collaboration across global sites is a key aspect of this role as alignment of methods is essential. Strong technical, communication, and consensus building skills will be required as well as a demonstrated ability to influence solutions across a global organization. The ideal candidate will partner with global SoC teams to drive best practices with a target of productivity improvement.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive emulation delivery for a multitude of projects

  • Lead functional debug of complex SOCs using emulation

  • Drive SoC verification using emulation (Accelerated Verification)

  • Develop XTORs to allow design simulation testbench to work with Emulation build

  • Provide technical guidance/help to the team on debugging complex issues

  • Work with architects and verification teams to ensure functional coverage

  • Train and mentor engineers to deliver high quality and increase productivity

  • Innovate improvements to emulation methodology, working with partners across other geographies

  • Interface with software teams and customers to enable emulation models for early system development.

  • Work with various EDA vendors to deploy next generation emulation technologies

  • Build strong collaboration with other R&D teams such as Design, Verification, digital IP, Design Enablement, and Validation to achieve project milestones

  • Promote continuous improvement to enhance bug finding capabilities and ensure ‘Zero Defect’ chips

 

Job Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD with 10+ years of experience in Semiconductor industry

  • Extensive hands-on SoC debug & Verification experience required

  • Exceptional experience with complex, multi-core SoC’s with complex interconnects and a large range of peripherals required

  • Knowledge of AMBA bus protocols and BOOT sequence of SoCs is required

  • Working knowledge of Digital Simulations tools like VCS/Xcelium

  • Strong domain knowledge of Clocking, System modes, Power management, Debug, security and other architectures is a must

  • Experience with various emulation/accelerator methods and use-case environments is a plus

  • Any of following experience would be a plus: High Speed Peripherals like DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, GPU, VPU (Video Processing Unit); NIC/FlexNOC interconnect; Flash memory subsystems.

  • Scripting/coding abilities also a plus, especially using Python

Location

  • This position is located in Austin, TX. We offer a hybrid work schedule where you are in the office 2-3 days a week and spend the other 2-3 days working from home. This is a position that CANNOT be done 100% remotely, so living the greater Austin area is necessary.
