Overview

This requirement is for a single Data Management Specialist position at the SFIA 6 level. There will be a merit pool created for any additional suitable candidates who were unsuccessful, this merit pool will remain valid for 6 months.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and Power BI reporting.
  • Establishes and manages processes for regular and consistent access to departmental information across multiple sources.
  • Creates and maintains data pipelines to connect data within and between data stores, applications and organisations.
  • Carries out data quality and validation checking.
  • Plans own data modelling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives.
  • Provides advice and guidance to others using the data structures and associated components.
  • Applies a variety of visualisation techniques and designs the content and appearance of data visuals.
  • Operationalises and automates activities for efficient and timely production of data visuals.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and data quality concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and data modelling.
  • Experience with aligning and streamlining data from multiple sources and legacy systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Power BI, Power Query and DAX functions.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in portfolio management office and / or with financial management reporting.
