Full-time or part-time, remote; location in the mid-Atlantic, Federal experience preferred

 

Marstel-Day, a premier environmental and sustainability consulting firm, is seeking mid- to senior-level licensed professional engineers to provide design and planning services for public and private sector ecosystem restoration projects. We focus on sustainable solutions that preserve and restore natural systems while creating vibrant spaces for healthy people and resilient communities. Primary projects are focused on ecosystem restoration. Other projects may include ecosystem restoration; high-performance landscapes; landscape and environmental design; community planning and design; visioning; green infrastructure; conservation; parks and open space plans; support for master plans; sustainability and resilience planning; and community engagement.

Qualification Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in in relevant engineering field (e.g., Civil, Environmental, Ecological, Biosystems) from an accredited university or college; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Mid-level candidates require 3+ years of experience supporting ecosystem restoration. Senior-level candidates must demonstrate 6+ years of experience and project management experience. 
  • Current professional engineer (PE) license in Maryland, Virginia, and/or Washington, DC, or ability to readily obtain one via comity application based on licensure in another US state   
  • Located within the mid-Atlantic area and able to travel to project sites for meetings (short trips of 1-2 days/trip) in the greater Washington, DC.
  • Experience in ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Experience on Federal projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and hand rendering is a significant plus.
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling experience is a plus.
  • Project management experience and interest is a plus.
  • Excellent GPA (college degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in the flexible work environment.  
  • Intellectual curiosity, paired with a high level of organization and attention to detail.

The incumbent must:

  • Be eligible to work in the U.S. (DHS Form I-9 must be completed by the incumbent and submitted to DHS for verification of citizenship and eligibility through E-Verify)
  • Submit to a background check as a condition of any final offer of employment.

Salary and Benefits:

The Company offers a very flexible work environment with competitive salaries and benefits. We pay a competitive salary or wage (depending on full-time or part-time employment) commensurate with the incumbent’s level of education, certification/registration, experience, and responsibilities.
