About the Opportunity

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and audit HR data for accuracy, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze data flow within HR, identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Lead small HRIS projects and contribute to non-HR business projects.
  • Collaborate with the HR team for compliance and employee-related changes.
  • Provide backup support for payroll and HRIS functions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for HRIS modules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of employee data.
  • Coordinate and monitor multiple HR systems, acting as the first point of contact for employee questions.
  • Liaise with HR and finance for accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Communicate payroll-related information to employees.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities, including calculations, verifications, and reconciliations.
  • Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and requirements.
  • Oversee payroll administration, respond to inquiries, and generate reports.
  • Utilize payroll systems effectively and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in payroll-related tax preparation.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

About You

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience processing payroll & HRIS administration in a multi-state organization
  • Understand California, Oregon, Colorado, and Hawaii labor law documentation procedures and payroll compliance.
  • Experience in managing and executing bi-weekly payroll.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in wage and hour law.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills, knowledgeable and proficient in the use of office equipment and systems.
  • Able to professionally and effectively interact and communicate, verbally and in writing, with staff, clients, and the public from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, take the initiative, prioritize, and accurately perform multiple tasks, and efficiently meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion about the work environment. Able to appropriately interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • Able to be flexible and adaptable to the changes within the company.
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred.
  • Implement arbitration provisions and documentation.

Physical requirements may include but is not limited to:

  • Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work
  • Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair
  • Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening
  • Constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing
  • Frequent typing, use of computer
  • Occasional walking around building
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car
Salary Description
$60,000 - $80,000 /yr
