Job description

Service Description: To reduce the increasing manual effort in testing an ever-growing number of IT services and to enhance testing efficiency, internal support for test automation is to be offered for all IT services.

Service Package A: Implementation Phase

  1. Production and Scripting of Existing Manual Test Cases:
  • 1.1 Automation for commissioned or supplied test cases for software products, web solutions, or hardware systems.
  • 1.2 Existing test cases will first be checked for quality and automation feasibility. If the test cases are not automatable in their current quality, they must be returned to the services for revision before they can be resubmitted for review.
  • 1.3 If the analysis is successful, and the test cases meet the desired quality, they will be automated using the existing UFT software tool by OpenText, following either a sequential or keyword-driven scripting approach.
  • 1.4 If the test cases are automated, additional existing test cases from other IT services may also be automated. These services must pre-register their needs.
  • Production and Scripting of “New” Test Cases for Service and Solution Developments:
    • 2.1 Through current development projects, new test cases may emerge and can be automated similarly to what was described in point 1.
  • Modification and Maintenance of Existing Automated Test Cases:
    • 3.1 Once the test cases are successfully automated, the test scripts are handed back to the responsible service, and a handover protocol is created, which describes the functionality of the automated test cases.
    • 3.2 If errors occur in previously handed-over test scripts, they must be maintained or adjusted following a new assignment from the responsible service.

    Service Package B: Handover Phase

    The automated test scripts are handed over, including documentation.

    Service Package C: Training Phase (Knowledge Management and Know-How Transfer)

    Training on the job for employees trained in the OpenText UFT tool.
