Summary

The Developer Experience Content team is responsible for ensuring external developers are successful when integrating and using the Pismo platform. We’re looking for a proactive, flexible, and hands-on leader to join our global team and help us grow our financial products at Pismo. As the Manager, Technical Writers on the Developer Experience Content team, you will hire, mentor, and oversee the day-to-day professional development of members of our technical writing staff. You’ll serve as player/coach and have production responsibilities that help drive success on the Pismo platform.  You’ll also collaborate with other leaders at Pismo to define standards and processes for writers and engineers at Pismo. 

What you'll do
  • Lead a team of technical writers to produce high-quality developer guides, API and event references, changelogs, and other resources.
  • Consult with engineering teams to help with content wording in API and event files.
  • Collect feedback and use data, user research, and benchmarking to inform content decisions and priorities.
  • Clearly communicate plans and progress to ensure visibility and alignment with Pismo’s global product, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
  • Take a leadership role in cross-functional initiatives to establish styles and processes, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Work with product teams to evaluate the external-facing documentation needs, and ensure updates are completed in coordination with product deployments.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other team members to collect source information, obtain technical reviews, and test functionality, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineers to edit reference specification files, generate code samples, and publish Postman collections.
  • Edit, reorganize, and verify the accuracy of existing documentation.
  • Participate in team initiatives to establish styles and processes, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing.
  • 2+ years of experience as a direct manager of technical writers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience writing banking documentation for developer audiences. Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, Swagger, and Postman preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, learn new skills quickly, and balance multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of technical writing standards and common style guides.
