Communications Coordinator 
Toronto, Ontario or Washington DC, USA  and Remote

We are seeking a proactive Communications Coordinator to join our team at IETA and support our communication efforts across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in communications, administration, and a willingness to engage with various stakeholders to promote the work and vision of IETA effectively.

 
Responsibilities
  • Assist the communications team in the execution of communication plans and outreach efforts to enhance the visibility and engagement of IETA. 
  • Manage logistics and communications for events that showcase IETA's work on an international platform. 
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of IETA’s digital presence across corporate websites and social media channels. 
  • Support the publication  of newsletters and other communication materials to ensure consistent messaging. 
  • Help produce articles, press releases, and content that promote the work and initiatives of IETA. 
  • Coordinate responses to media inquiries and assist in identifying and scheduling opportunities for interviews and press engagements that align with organisational objectives.
  • Work with different teams in the organisation to coordinate communication efforts.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the IETA name and mission in communication activities to enhance our organisation's visibility. 
  • Undertake additional administrative responsibilities as required to support the Communications team.
 
Skills and Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications or a related administrative role within an organisational setting. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for various audiences. 
  • Basic proficiency in managing social media platforms and website content management systems. 
  • An interest in design and experience with software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create engaging communications materials is an advantage. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks. 
  • A genuine interest in environmental sustainability and a readiness to contribute to the organisation's mission. 
  • Qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
 
Package and Location
  • The package will be commensurate with experience. 
  • 25 days of holiday. 
  • This position is Toronto, Ontario or Washington DC -based, offering remote working, with some travel to events as required.
