Job description

Make is the leading visual platform for anyone to design, build, and automate anything—from tasks and workflows to apps and systems—without the need for coding skills. We are headquartered in the flourishing tech hub of Prague, Czech Republic, and our teams are spread across the USA, UK, Germany, France, Canada, India and Chile, among other locations.

Why do we love building Make (and why you might, too)?

We’re a team of developers, and it’s second nature for us to whip up a solution with some coding. But what about folks who aren’t developers or don’t have one in their corner? They could get trapped in a monotonous cycle of tedious tasks, shuffling data around, and missing out on doing things that really matter.

That’s where Make comes in. We’ve created a space where anyone can craft powerful automations that are as intuitive and fun as playing a game. We’re here to share the buzz of creating something awesome that works like a charm and to turn everyday individuals into makers.

What you’ll do

You're about to hop on board with Make Bridge, an early-stage product, on a super cool mission to expand the reach of Make beyond our own playfield. We dream about giving any SaaS product out there the power to bring in automation and integration capabilities with unparalleled simplicity. You’ll be working directly with one of our founders and will own the technical design and delivery of the product. You're gonna roll up your sleeves, iterate on a prototype we’ve built and bring it to the market. And hey, having fun is part of the deal. You're totally gonna love your job! 😊 In particular, you can expect to do the following:

  • Act as the technical lead for a small and lean team of engineers.
  • Quickly iterate on ideas and validate them with real customers.
  • Build a brand new part of the Make platform, with lots of room for your own creative ideas and initiatives.

Our Tech stack

  • ⚙️ Back-end: Node.js, Fastify, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch
  • 🖥 Front-end: Angular, TypeScript, Redux, Web Components, Canvas, Nx
  • ☁️ Infra: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
  • 🚚 CI/CD: GitHub, CircleCI, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows
  • 🔎 Monitoring: DataDog

What we expect from you

You are a product-minded engineer. You want to understand how people use a product, and love to be involved in making product decisions. You can engage in informed technical discussions, backing your opinions with facts and data, and make everyone feel heard. On top of being hands-on, you have led a small engineering team or several projects before. And most importantly, you get things done. In more detail, we need you to have the following:

  • Deep understanding of modern engineering concepts
  • Advanced Javascript and Typescript knowledge
  • Experience with RESTful API design according to best practices
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with building complex production systems for public cloud (if you know how to setup cloud infra, use Terraform and Helm, the better)
  • Crossover into business that allows you to get familiar with the market and the competition
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in English
