Description

As legal and judicial agencies move toward a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions stands as a leader in providing transcription services across various industries. We are in search of experienced legal/judicial contractors who have significant experience in transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a 100% remote opportunity for independent contractors.

You will cover content including depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. This role requires intense attention to detail in accurately discerning what is said, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts.

As an independent contractor with VIQ Solutions, you will have the freedom to set your own schedule with the availability of 24/7/365 work. Weekend availability is encouraged.

Skills

Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
Excellent listening skills.
Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to collaborate remotely.
Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
Ability to process extreme audio/text content (note that content may be offensive).
Ability to pass a background check.
Familiarity with legal terminology.
Court reporting students will also be considered.
