Join a leading staffing agency in the job placement industry, dedicated to connecting top-notch professionals with exceptional job opportunities across the nation. We are currently seeking three Coding Specialist candidates for a Health Information Management position.

This role focuses on inpatient coding for a Facility IP coder with experience in a Level II Trauma center. Candidates should be adept at coding all discharge departments and possess extensive familiarity with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Correctly assign ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedure codes on clinical encounters according to regulatory and CMS Official Guidelines to ensure accurate reimbursement.
  • Provide intermediate clinical inpatient support within the Health Information Management department, completing all necessary coding assignments from various discharge departments, including but not limited to postpartum, newborn, cardiac ICU, nephrology, and more.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
  • Accurately translate diagnostic statements, physician orders, and documentation to maintain coding accuracy and abstract pertinent data for reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with HIM staff to resolve documentation discrepancies, ensuring the retrieval of additional information when needed.
  • Interpret and apply AHA Official Coding Guidelines to support accurate diagnoses and procedures.
  • Maintain coding certification and stay updated with ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives as assigned and meet productivity and quality standards set by leadership.

Skills And Certifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of inpatient coding experience required.
  • Experience in acute care facility and/or Trauma Level II coding preferred.
  • AAPC, AHIMA, or another Certified Coding credential (excluding apprenticeship classification) required.
