Description

As Legal and Judicial agencies move towards a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions stands out as a leader in providing transcription services across various industries. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial specialists with significant expertise in transcribing depositions and hearings. This role is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors.

The content you will work on includes depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, requiring intense attention to detail and familiarity with legal terminology. Your responsibilities will involve processing audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts. You will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and access support from our in-office team whenever necessary. Work is available around the clock, 24/7/365, and candidates with weekend availability are encouraged to apply.

Skills Required

Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription
Excellent listening skills
Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar
Ability to collaborate remotely
Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy
Ability to process extreme audio/text content (note that content may be offensive)
Ability to pass a background check
Familiarity with legal terminology
Court reporting students will also be considered
