Overview

Are you an experienced Accounting Specialist looking for a new opportunity in Petaluma, CA? We're seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and manage various financial operations with precision and accuracy. If you're detail-oriented, proficient in financial software, and have a strong background in accounting, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage wire transfers, ACH transactions, and other financial operations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Review and verify daily remote deposits, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.
  • Monitor transactions entered into mortgage software, maintaining financial accuracy.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring precise tracking and timely payments.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with financial records.
  • Reconcile and allocate credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the daily accounting routine.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to support financial accuracy.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing relevant financial documents and balancing accounts.
  • Assist with loan servicing tasks to ensure accurate recording of loan-related financial activities.
  • Perform additional accounting duties as needed to support the department.

Qualifications

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with mortgage software is a plus.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technology and changes in financial software.
  • Strong team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude, capable of working independently when needed.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
