This is a remote position.

Job Overview:

The Management Accountant will play a key role in providing financial insights and analysis to support business strategy and decision-making. This position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and preparing management reports while ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.

Job Description:
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop, monitor, and update annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with department managers
  • Conduct variance analysis, providing explanations for differences between actual and budgeted results.
  • Analyze business performance and provide recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Perform cost analysis and recommend measures for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO regulations, GST, BAS, PAYG, and FBT requirements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end financial closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, supporting senior management with data-driven insights.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for effective cash management.
  • Provide support for the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align financial planning with business objectives.


Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting, preferably in an Australian context.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations, including GST, BAS, PAYG, and FBT.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
