Job Description
We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team.
You will work closely with account managers and various business units to develop strategies and solutions directly with and for Nokia's key customers in North America.
For this opportunity, we are looking for a highly technical Sales Engineer that has extensive customer facing experience, including hands on and network architecture experience.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
As part of the team, you will:
- Lead deep technical discussions and support product demonstrations, lab evaluations and network trials
- Evaluate and develop business opportunities in collaboration with the Sales team
- Act as a subject matter expert, engage customers, present viable technical solutions, and articulate the value to customers.
- Manage relationships with customers at all levels – enable parallel top-down sales through executive relationships and bottoms up sales through teams.
- Identify customer requirements and communicate to internal pricing teams
- Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services.
- Provide pre-sales and post sales Engineering support
- Travel: Up to 50% overnight travel to meet with customers, strategize with account leaders and represent Nokia at events.

Key Skills And Experience
You have:
- At least 6 years of technical pre-sales experience, including leading customer engagements, meetings and internal strategies, in the telecommunications (IP, and/or Fixed Networks) industry
- At least 6 years’ networking experience, including IP, Optical or data center related technologies.
- In depth knowledge of IP networking and architectures
- Experience in building large networks
- Expertise in protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP and MPLS
- Candidate must have hands on experience on major network vendor equipment
- Demonstrated success in challenging customer facing roles; ability to build positive relationships and serve as the primary technical face of Nokia
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
- Must be capable of developing senior level customer technical relationships but comfortable working with all levels.
- Proven experience in complex selling environment, driving consistent strategy across multiple customer sets.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Advanced automation, Linux and DevOps skillsets are a major advantage.
- Experience selling to Webscale accounts a plus
- Major Vendor Routing Certification (CCIE-SP, JNCIE-SP, SRA)
- Business acumen and market/account strategy experience
- Vision to build the sales pipeline and foster long term growth opportunity in your accounts
