About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and strategic individual to drive our carbon strategy, sales, and implementation. In this cross-functional role, you’ll identify and develop new business opportunities, forge partnerships, and scale our carbon removal technology, helping to position us as a leader in the carbon removal industry.

Responsibilities

Carbon Market Development:

  • Identify and secure new deployments with strategic partners for our technology.
  • Support negotiations and deal closings with wastewater partners and carbon credit buyers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in municipal and industrial wastewater sectors.
  • Collaborate with our Commercial Strategy Lead, Engineering Team, and CEO to evaluate technology fit with target partners.

Strategic Carbon Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive carbon strategy aligned with our mission and goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Set and achieve carbon-related targets with the management team.

Partnership Management

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with wastewater operators, government entities, and industry organizations.
  • Coordinate with partners to ensure successful integration and operation of our technology.

Sales And Carbon Marketing

  • Oversee sales and marketing plans to drive technology adoption.
  • Represent our company at industry conferences, events, and meetings.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients and partners.

Protocol Development

  • Collaborate with carbon credit verifiers to develop protocols for carbon credit certification.
  • Ensure protocols align with industry standards and meet registry requirements.
  • Document, communicate, and update protocol methodologies as needed.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of business development and strategy professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in climate science, geochemistry, oceanography, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in carbon markets, carbon credits, and climate strategy.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • In-depth understanding of global greenhouse gas protocols and science-based carbon reduction methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of Life Cycle Assessment Methodologies for technology products with respect to carbon footprint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong sense of ownership, empathy, and a growth mindset.

Location

We have offices and labs in New Haven, CT, and offices in Brooklyn, NY. While the ideal candidate will be in-person, remote/hybrid work options are available.
