We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Business Intelligence (BI) Product Owner to join Gannett’s Enterprise Business Intelligence organization. This role will be pivotal in managing and evolving our BI data products across various Business Units (BUs), as well as overseeing enterprise reporting hubs that span multiple Business Units. The BI Product Owner will be responsible for driving the execution and adoption of our BI product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business needs, delivering high-quality data insights, and driving measurable business value.

Base Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Roadmap maintenance: Maintain a clear roadmap, aligned with the Enterprise BI vision, for BI data products and enterprise reporting hubs, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs across various domains.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and data delivery team to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring data products and reporting solutions meet user expectations and business objectives.
  • Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Document requirements comprehensively, breaking them down into clear, actionable user stories and detailed product specifications. Continuously refine these documents through iterative feedback loops with stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity, ultimately guiding the development team through every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Backlog Management: Own and manage the product backlog for BI solutions, defining and prioritizing features, enhancements, and bug fixes to maximize product value and user satisfaction.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept and design through development, testing, and deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality BI solutions.
  • User Adoption and Training: Develop and execute strategies to drive user adoption of BI products, including the creation of user guides, training materials, and support resources.
  • Data Governance: Partner with Gannett’s Data Governance team to ensure that all BI data products adhere to data governance standards, including data quality, security, and privacy policies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of BI products and reporting hubs, using key metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery and operation of BI products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business intelligence, data analytics, or a related role.
  • Proven experience managing data products and/or reporting platforms in a complex business environment.
  • Strong understanding of BI tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or QlikView) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data quality.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) is a plus.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $59,400 and $122,000.  Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
