Key Responsibilities

  • Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients, identifying their needs and crafting customized solutions to meet their accounting requirements.
  • Account Management: Evaluate key account concerns and develop strategies using team resources and technology to address them effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of Staff Accountants, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to company standards.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their immediate needs and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee financial reporting and month-end closing procedures for various clients. Ensure accurate year-end financial reporting and book closings.
  • Expert Service: Lead by example in providing expert-level service, including bookkeeping, adjusting journal entries, financial statement preparation, cash-flow forecasting, and AP/AR services.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning meetings to enhance operational excellence and align on market approach.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and refine financial reporting practices, drive process efficiencies, and ensure operational consistency.
  • Project Management: Complete ad hoc projects such as operational analyses and audits, along with any other client-related tasks.

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is essential; familiarity with other accounting systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a talent for training and development.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking in tackling complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of accounting experience, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in both public and private accounting is strongly preferred.
