Your missions

Use your data skills to help us develop our understanding of the experience of the organisations led by and for groups facing structural injustice that use our service

What difference will you make?

Your expertise will help us to shape our approach to analysing the data we collect on organisations that are targeted for or led by those facing social injustice. This will be crucial in allowing us to understand the experiences of organisations using our service, and how we can better reach and support them. Your input will also upskill the team, and help develop our reporting and analysis capabilities so that we can embed this work into our ongoing practices.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone to help us analyse the data as a first step our primary goal is to get clear and well grounded insights. This is the start of a long term plan to report regularly on this important data so we’d ideally like someone who can also help us to develop a reporting schedule or plan that we could deliver ourselves. We are looking for a volunteer that Has good statistical skills Has sophisticated understanding of Excel and pivot tables Is curious; will enjoy exploring the data with an open mind to draw out the most helpful insights Desirable but not essential Is able to communicate findings in a clear and impactful way Has experience of data visualisation tools Has some experience of training or mentoring others to develop their data analysis skills Has experience of analysing DEI data

What will you be doing?

Reach Volunteering is the leading skills-based volunteering charity and the UK’s single biggest source of trustees for the voluntary sector. Through our platform, charities and other not-for-profit, social purpose organisations connect with skilled volunteers with the professional experience to help them realise their ambitions. Reach is committed to helping to increase equity, diversity and inclusion in civil society. Equity is at the heart of our vision and values, and equity, diversity and inclusion is one of the core beliefs that underpins our work. In 2022 we created our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Theory of Change and developed an action plan focused on the work necessary to embed and operationalise EDI into our everyday practices and messaging (click here to find out more). As part of this, in 2023 we began collecting data on user-led organisations (led by and for groups facing structural injustice) to enable us to explore how we reach organisations serving different communities. We are now ready to conduct our first set of data analysis and reporting to develop our understanding of the experience of the organisations led by and for groups facing structural injustice that use our service – and are looking for help. We’d love to work with a data expert who can explore the data we have so far, and draw out key insights. We do lots of data analysis and have done some basic initial work, but we’d like to be led by the data and are keen to find someone with the expertise and curiosity to help us dig into it. We’d be keen to find some help developing the process and tools to enable us to undertake future analysis efficiently and effectively.
