Canberra Health Services – Clinical Pharmacist – Rotational (Remote, Temporary Position)

Canberra Hospital is looking for highly motivated and dynamic pharmacists to join our team of remote pharmacists to deliver exceptional clinical pharmacy services to patients under the care of Canberra Hospital, wherever they may be living in the world. This includes applications from AHPRA registered pharmacists who may be living or planning to live overseas within a suitable time zone where standard shift hours in that time zone would align with the evening and overnight period in the ACT.

The ACT Government has expanded the Canberra Hospital to deliver more emergency, surgical and critical care capacity for the ACT and surrounding region. The centrepiece of this project is the 43,000sqm Critical Services Building (CSB) that will transform the Canberra Hospital campus to meet expanding health needs of the population.

The department runs a successful AdPha accredited residency program, an excellent intern training program and is accredited for several Registrar Training Residency Programs. We are a progressive, forward-thinking department, having introduced credentialed accuracy checking technician roles, implemented Partnered Pharmacist Medication Charting on the main Canberra Hospital site in Garran and implemented a remote clinical pharmacy service to enhance our on site services.

Temporary full-time positions are available to cover maternity leave, with the possibility of contract extension or permanency. Applications from part time workers will also be considered for any flexible working requirements (please state any specific requirements for part time work in your application). Options for flexible work hours are also considered.

The ultimate work-life balance

Pharmacists working from home are embedded within the clinical team to provide remote pharmacy services for inpatients and outpatients.

To work remotely, applicants must have suitable technical capabilities, consistent and reliable access to internet service capable of supporting videoconferencing and will need to comply with the ACT Government home-based work factsheet which can be provided on request. Applicants intending to apply for remote work whilst living overseas must be familiar with any visa restrictions and taxation rules prior to application to ensure they would be compliant with any legal requirements in those countries.
