Your missions

Description

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 6-month remote contract with potential for hire. This travel position involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to support our Pharmacy Services Department. In this position, you will coordinate and perform various tasks related to pharmacy and benefit operations, integrating pharmacy functions with other departments such as Medical Review, Case Management, Mental Health/Chemical Dependency, and Quality Management. You will serve as a key liaison, interacting directly with members, healthcare providers, and regulatory entities to ensure smooth medication management and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process pharmacy prior authorizations, considering member eligibility, medication utilization policies, and prescriber information.
  • Maintain and update the pharmacy benefits database and oversee daily point-of-service claims transactions.
  • Handle and triage incoming calls, identifying urgent requests and taking appropriate action using established protocols and sound judgment.
  • Perform intake and data entry for authorization and referral requests, medication therapy information, and other pharmacy-related processes.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers to support medication management programs and initiatives.
  • Communicate directly with members, customer service teams, pharmacies, and other regulatory bodies regarding health plan operations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a managed care environment, or 3 years in an outpatient pharmacy.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification in the state of Oregon.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals, team members, and patients.
