The opportunity:

Parsley Health is looking for a Member Insurance Benefits Associate to join our team. The Member Insurance Benefits Associate will be focused on researching and communicating insurance benefits and eligibility information with members. The Member Benefits Associate will be focused on insurance verification, communication of benefits to members, and collection of copayments and member responsibility when appropriate. This position will also be responsible for fielding all member questions related to insurance, EOBs, reimbursement processes, and medical billing.

What you’ll do:

  • Verify insurance benefits and check eligibility of all members.
  • Proactively outreach members to communicate cost estimates based on their insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Ensure patients understand the process for how out-of-network care works (when applicable).
  • Identify trends or patient issues and initiate corrective action to improve the patient experience in terms of cost transparency.
  • Resolve issues with patient invoices and alleviate confusion around any outstanding billing items.
  • Manage protected health information and follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and advice on product/technology/process improvements.

What you’ll need:

  • At least 2+ years in the health tech or medical field in a similar position (experience working in a startup environment is a bonus)
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information in a way that is easy for patients to understand.
  • Comfortable in amorphous, fast-paced environments and with constantly evolving responsibilities.
  • Tech-savvy skills: very comfortable adopting new technologies and platforms and efficient in tech-related tasks.

Parsley Health is committed to providing an equitable, fair and transparent compensation program for all employees.

The starting salary for this role is between $55,250 - $65,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with candidates during the process.
