Your missions

Mission

Speechify is the easiest way to listen to the world’s information. Articles on the web, documents in the cloud, books on your phone. We absorb it all and let you listen to it at your desk, on the go, at your own speed, and with tools that make learning easier, deeper, and faster.

What streaming services have done for audio entertainment, we’re doing for audio information. And whatever we’re doing seems to be working. We’re #1 in our category, and experiencing exponential growth.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior UX Researcher to join our team, responsible for understanding and advocating for the needs of our users.

What You’ll Do

The Senior UX Researcher will lead research initiatives, providing insights that will drive product and design decisions across multiple projects. This role requires deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • Lead UX Research Initiatives: Conduct, manage, and lead end-to-end UX research projects, from initial scoping and planning to executing studies and synthesizing findings.
  • Develop Research Strategies: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to create a research roadmap aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Conduct Research: Utilize a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, contextual inquiries, ethnographic studies, and data analysis.
  • Synthesize Findings: Translate research findings into actionable insights, presenting results in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advocate for the User: Act as a user advocate within the company, promoting a user-centered design approach and ensuring that user experience is a key driver of product decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, developers, and marketing teams to integrate research findings into product and design decisions.
  • Mentor Junior Researchers: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior UX researchers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and user-focused decision-making.
  • Stay Current on UX Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest UX research trends, tools, and methods, and introduce new approaches as appropriate.
  • Measure and Track Impact: Collaborate with product and design teams to measure the impact of UX research on product and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of UX research experience, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating your research impact on product design and development.
  • Research Expertise: Strong knowledge of a variety of UX research methodologies, tools, and techniques. Experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with tools like UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Lookback, Hotjar, or similar platforms. Ability to work with analytics tools and translate data into insights.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills, with a passion for solving complex problems through user-centered research.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to design, conduct, and analyze research with precision and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience leading a UX research team or mentoring junior team members.
  • Global Research: Experience conducting research in global or cross-cultural contexts is a plus.
