We currently have an opportunity for a Health Policy Manager at AstraZeneca.

As a Health Policy Manager you are responsible for developing and driving disease-specific policy transformation programs that have been set as a priority by the organization. You develop concrete proposals, positions statements and strategies and implement them. The ultimate goal is to achieve necessary positive developments, in alignment with therapeutic area’s strategy, in the various policy layers of our healthcare system, for the benefit of patients and caregivers in Greece in the therapeutic area of responsibility.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for developing and implementing a health policy strategy to understand and improve the general business environment to support AZ Therapy Area strategies.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing health policy plans in the therapeutic area of responsibility integrated with the national policy shaping strategies and plans.
  • Transform the health policy agenda in the therapeutic area of his/her responsibility (transforming healthcare, strategic and tactical) by including key priorities of TA’s strategy.
  • Shape policy development in the health care system for the therapeutic area of his/her responsibility to build external networks with relevant stakeholders (local, regional, national level) to understand the impact institutions and their policies will have on the AstraZeneca therapeutic area portfolio.
  • Be a core member of the cross functional team of the therapeutic area of his/her responsibility and support the cross functional brand teams to understand how health policy changes (transforming healthcare initiatives) can affect brand’s strategies.
  • Participates in internal networks with the aim of sharing best practices and important information in the policy transforming healthcare area. Act as the internal point of reference on health policy initiatives for the therapeutic area of his/her responsibility.

Essential for the role

  • Master’s degree in related field, such as political science, business administration or medical education
  • Deep knowledge of the Greek health care system 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the therapeutic area of Oncology
  • Health policy experience in the healthcare area
  • Strategic thinking
  • Acts decisively
  • Analysis and Business Acumen
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Communication and Negotiation skills
  • Fluency in Greek and English language (both written and verbal)
