Backflip’s Corporate Finance team provides data-driven insights to inform strategic and operational decisions across the company. We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Operations Analyst to play an integral role in Backflip’s Finance function. In this role, you will be a key contributor in managing day-to-day cash flows as well as designing and implementing scalable treasury processes to support our rapid growth. We’re looking for someone who possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Success in this role requires the ability to learn quickly while balancing structure and autonomy.

This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor (~75 person team) working directly with senior leaders in a well-capitalized startup with a great culture (Check out our recently announced $15M Series A).

What You'll Do:
  • Cash management - monitor and orchestrate daily cash movement between multiple entities and accounts to ensure operational liquidity and optimize cash allocation
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately
  • Support the Loan Operations and Capital Markets teams by ensuring timely and accurate wire transfers in compliance with internal policies
  • Execute a cash-management strategy designed to minimize risk while maximizing interest revenue earned on cash reserves
  • Cultivate positive relationships with counterparts at Backflip’s capital markets partners
  • Support the Accounting team by processing payments, recording deposits, and preparing reconciliations
  • Proactively suggest and implement process improvements and execute system implementations to support the company's growth
  • Monitor compliance with third-party credit agreements and support monthly reporting 

  • This role will evolve as the company grows; there will be various tasks that fall outside of the responsibilities above. 

    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 - 5+ years of experience in Treasury, Finance, Accounting, or Loan Operations
  • Experience with in least one of the following industries preferred: i) real estate investments; ii) credit products; iii) mortgages, or; iv) early stage VC-backed startups (especially PropTech or FinTech)
  • Proficiency using Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in understanding and organizing large data sets 
  • Superior attention to detail and curiosity to investigate any irregularities
  • Action-oriented mindset with motivation and scrappiness to achieve objectives under pressure with limited resources
  • Understanding of investment concepts
  • Ability to multi-task with exceptional self-directed time management & prioritization

  • Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $100,000 - $120,000 plus an annual bonus, and is based on a variety of factors including prior experience, geographic location, stock option grant, and other factors, and may fall outside of the stated range for certain candidates.
