We are seeking an Employee Benefits Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be amongst other traits, detail-oriented and able to complete a multi-task workload in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be comfortable with learning new skills, systems, processes, and procedures, and shifting priorities and a new way of thinking and doing as needed.

Work Arrangement: This is a full-time, remote position that supports our office located in Fort Washington, PA. Computer equipment will be provided by the company upon hire.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Handle all facets of multiple employee benefit agencies accounting functions
  • Assist with annual budget preparation
  • Execute daily, monthly, and year-end Balance Sheet and Income Statement
  • Prepare the monthly P&L and Balance Sheet for assigned Agencies
  • Record journal entries from corporate team
  • Collect on outstanding balances and prepare Accounts Receivable reports
  • Retrieve commission statements and post commissions from carrier websites and statements
  • Resolve any commission reconciliation variances that may develop
  • Reconcile bank accounts, handle bank deposits, pay operating expenses
  • Maintain daily communication with agency leaders and 3rd party vendors
  • Work on additional accounting-related projects as needed

Qualifications And Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or a business-related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in employee benefit insurance and brokerage accounting
  • Experience with Benefit Point management system or other large benefits business systems
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the required state pay transparency law. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
