Prospect, IL office.

NTN Bearing Corporation is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Automotive Aftermarket Regional Technical Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of wheel hubs, bearings and all automotive systems, components, diagnostics, and repair procedures, coupled with exceptional communication and teaching skills. As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs to automotive technicians, service advisors, and other personnel within the aftermarket industry while also delivering the BCA OEM message. This role requires roughly 80% travel.

Major Responsibilities

  • Customize Training Programs: Tailor training programs to meet the specific needs and skill levels of different target audiences, such as entry-level technicians, experienced professionals, and managerial staff.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions for independent automotive repair shops, distributors, and at trade events. Sessions may include classroom lectures, workshops, webinars, and on-the-job training at repair shop locations.
  • Develop Training Materials: Create engaging and informative training materials such as presentations, manuals, videos, and hands-on exercises covering topics specific to wheel hubs, bearings, and seals to including diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and product knowledge.
  • Maintain Training Records: Keep detailed records of training sessions, attendance, evaluations, and certifications achieved by trainees. Generate reports and analytics to track training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance to trainees and customers regarding complex automotive systems, diagnostic procedures, and product installations.

Qualifications

  • Automotive Technology or Mechanical Engineering degree, or a related field. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is required.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) working as an automotive technician, service advisor, or trainer in the automotive aftermarket industry. Strong organizational abilities required.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, specifically wheel end, diagnostics tools (scan tools, oscilloscopes, etc.), repair procedures, and aftermarket products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% for conducting on-site training sessions.
  • Experience in working closely with product development, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to align training initiatives with business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Advanced knowledge of suspension, wheel bearing and hub products.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments.
