Job Summary

We’re seeking a Communications Specialist who will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of responding to RFPs, including writing and proofreading custom content that conveys Miles Partnership’s qualifications and creative ideas to potential clients. These proposals cross a wide spectrum of products and services, including advertising campaign creation, content marketing, media buying, website development and print publishing.

In addition to writing proposals, the Communications Specialist will help implement our marketing and communications plan through Miles’ branded channels inclusive of the website, blog, social media, email marketing, webinars and press releases.

We’re looking for someone with a strong marketing mind and a creative flair for persuasive writing. Key to success is the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

  • Plays a key role in concepting, writing, editing and proofreading new business development proposals and ensures they are accurate, compliant and competitive
  • Analyzes RFP requirements, assembles an appropriate response plan and delegates responsibilities to ensure that the response is submitted by deadline
  • Coordinates, reviews and edits proposal input from a variety of stakeholders
  • Crafts data-informed content strategies and creative ideas that align with specific client needs
  • Assists with communications and updates on the Miles website, blog, social media, email marketing, internal communications and other channels as needed
  • Assists with media relations and press releases
  • Fosters ongoing collaboration with internal thought leaders to continually develop and improve Miles-branded communications
  • Stays up to date on marketing and travel industry trends
  • This position does not manage a department or oversee others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism or related degree is preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a professional capacity working in a marketing / communications role, preferably in an agency setting
  • Past proposal writing experience preferred
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an emphasis on the ability to create content that engages and leads to measurable results
    • Writing samples/portfolio to be provided with resume
    • Candidates will be asked to take a proofreading test
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and superior project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects
  • Presentation building and public speaking/pitching experience a plus

Location

We are open to a remote candidate located anywhere in the US or an in-office candidate based in our Sarasota, FL/Lakewood, CO office. Preference will be given to candidates currently located in the Sarasota, FL area.

Travel Requirements

Minimal

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 DOE
