Your Job

As a Monitoring & Leak Detection Engineer for Flint Hills Resources LC (FHR), you will apply your troubleshooting and analytical skills in a collaborative team environment. You will be responsible for working closely with both technical and non-technical groups to support remote pipeline operations, projects, and business initiatives. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to grow in both knowledge and responsibilities.

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshoot and support pipeline hydraulic operations
  • Build and manage analytical models to identify equipment failures and detect pipeline releases
  • Develop, maintain, and test real-time leak detection models
  • Implement solutions to improve reliability and reduce false alarms in leak detection systems
  • Collaborate with teams and customers to drive capability advancement initiatives


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering OR 2+ years pipeline operations experience
  • Will be required to be on call for support on a rotating schedule
  • Ability to manage multifaceted projects from concept to completion


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Coding experience
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and experience solving complex problems
  • Pipeline hydraulic modeling experience
  • Pipeline leak detection experience
  • Experience working with and communicating to all levels of an organization on key initiatives
  • Strong communication skills between technical and non-technical personnel
  • Experience applying data analytics to operations
  • Knowledge of PI Data Historian systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
