About the position:

As a Product Marketing Manager for Univar Solutions you will manage and drive P&L performance of selected commodity and specialty products. You will implement specific procurement and sales strategies associated with the products, or group of products. This position will provide regional and geographical expertise in designated product areas specific to market conditions and applications. This position will have a strong interface with field management, product management, and suppliers to optimize profitability.

This is a remote home-based opportunity covering for a Maternity Leave. Travel required 20-30% of the time for vendor meetings, customer visits trade shows, and trainings. 

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for enterprise relationship with Foodology suppliers. This includes mapping and engaging interactions with management, technical, marketing, and supply teams. 
  • Accountable for P&L of selected product/s within the food ingredient market segment across North America. 
  • Interfaces with suppliers to develop longer term strategic relationships. 
  • Functional reporting into the North American Food Ingredients head of suppliers. 
  • Assist in implementation, and execution, of the procurement, supply, sales, marketing, financial and logistical strategy within North America. 
  • Support and manage the negotiation of pricing and buying plans. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales for a go-to-market strategy with suppliers 
  • Develop and execute mutual action plans with suppliers to facilitate market growth.   
  • Works closely with the Product Specialists to deliver efficient information and response-time to field sellers. 
  • Works closely with procurement, finance, and account payable to resolve supplier issues and remove supply chain issues. 
  • Provides regular market updates to the field organization on assigned products, coordinates training with suppliers for both technical and commercial. 
  • Prepares and submits reports as directed. 
  • Provides guidance to Field Organization, and others, on day-to-day issues, i.e. pricing, service, procurement, and supply. 


What we would like from you:

  • University degree or diploma in a related field (Chemistry, Food Science, Business Administration)
  • Minimum of five to ten (5-10) years’ specialized training or experience in related field (i.e. years field or product management experience)
  • Broad knowledge of chemical distribution business and functions
  • Must have strong working experience with field relationships
  • Must have the ability to develop and grow strong relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • High level of decision-making ability balancing customers needs and company objectives
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to handle diverse and significant workload
  • Must have strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Must have demonstrated financial management skills
  • Strong analytical skills needed to develop strategic data driven decisions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and Tableau
