Your missions

We're looking for a Brand Development Manager (Sales) to join our On Trade team

Location: Covering Castleford, Wakefield, Barnsley, Sheffield

We are not prioritising the CV - we aim to recruit based on potential, not experience. We are interested in seeing your behaviours in action and how they will help you become successful at Molson Coors, giving everyone the opportunity to show their potential, regardless of background or experience.

Why Molson Coors?

The On Trade is one of the most vibrant and energetic industries in the UK. Made up of pubs, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, it provides great careers to a diverse workforce that love hospitality and are known for enjoying themselves while working hard to deliver great consumer experiences.

For over two centuries, Molson Coors has been brewing beverages that unite people to celebrate all life’s moments. We produce some of the UK’s favourite drinks brands from Carling to Madri, Aspall to Rekorderlig, Miami Cocktails to Tarquin’s Gin. While the company’s history is rooted in beer, Molson Coors offers a modern portfolio that expands beyond beer.

You will join one of our successful Sales teams, operating in one of our key regions. The teams combine several different roles and levels of experience and a culture that will ensure your career at Molson Coors gets off to a great start. The UK business is made up of over 2000 people and we put them first, taking accountability for each other’s success. We invest in our people providing a high level of on and off the job training and dedicate time and resources into your personal development.

The Role

The role of Brand Development Manager (BDM) is part of the Sales team. This isn’t a hard sell, quick win role - our aim is to build long lasting relationships with our customers and support them every step of the way! This is a field-based role - we use technology to drive efficiency but carry out our business in person.

You will spend your time visiting all types of hospitality outlets, each with a slightly different need and opportunity. You will support the rest of your team to grow the distribution of our brands, working on a right brand, right outlet principle. Each day is different - you will be responsible for meeting your set objectives but also have the flexibility to identify opportunities and manage your own diary.

To be successful on the role, you will need to:

  • Cultivate strong relationships: A BDM will need to excel at building and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, wholesalers, and internal colleagues. They will need to present a good impression to others.
  • Drive accountability and goal achievement: A BDM must take ownership of their targets and consistently deliver results. They should exhibit a proactive attitude, actively assisting customers and taking responsibility for their work.
  • Influence communication: A BDM must have a social presence and take ownership, shaping the way that they communicate in order to influence the outcomes required.
  • Optimise time management: A successful BDM needs to meticulously plan and structure their time, by effectively organising their days in advance. Additionally, they must allocate time for administrative tasks such as email correspondence and data entry, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Adapt in dynamic environments: Being able to adapt to changing situations is a crucial skill for a BDM. They should remain composed and level-headed, even in the face of unexpected phone calls, sudden changes to schedules, or demanding customers.

The Recruitment Process:

Step 1: Application - this will include questions around your motivation for the role and how you can add to the culture at Molson Coors.

Step 2: Measuring your Potential - Arctic Shores’ task-based assessment. You will be asked to complete some exciting, engaging tasks which will help us get to know you better! In return, you’ll receive a personalised feedback report.

Step 3: Interview - Situation-based questions that are related to the important behaviours needed to be successful on the role. Our aim will be to understand how you would tackle certain situations you will face on the job. A presentation on your favourite brand, any brand, and a group exercise.

Step 4: Decision/Feedback - You will receive feedback even if we do not make the decision to offer you the job or progress you to the next stage.

Our deadline for applications is 09/09/2024.

Here's what we offer:

  • Circa £33,000 salary with flex on experience
  • Sales Commission scheme
  • Car/Cash Allowance so a full UK driving license is required.
  • Private medical, dental, pension and life assurance.
  • 34 Days Holiday - 31 days, and 3 statutory bank holidays (Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day).
  • We’re one of the Most Attractive Employers winning the UK Top Employer award for the last 11 years.
  • Flexible work programmes to ensure a work life balance is maintained such as our market leading ‘Moments That Matter’ for significant moments in your life (2 weeks paid leave).
  • Commitment to the physical and mental wellbeing of all our people. We are proud to have been awarded Gold in Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Awards. We offer more flexible working hours during summer, so people can make the most out of the great weather as we know how this can positively impact wellbeing!
  • We’re committed to raising industry standards and leaving a positive imprint on our employees, consumers, communities and the environment which is reflected in Our Beer Print and our 2025 sustainability targets.
