Clinical Marketing Manager, PMLS - UK

Location: Birmingham, UK

Mindray UK requires a highly experienced, people manager to lead our team of Clinical Application Specialists, supporting the patient monitoring and life support portfolio of products.

This new role will be moulded by a credible and charismatic leader with proven people management experience of managing direct reports

 

You will:

  • Lead and manage overall activities of CAS team
  • Fully implement a strategic action plan for the development of CAS team for efficiency activity of before and after sales
  • Develop and establish networks of KOL in the different specialists to further facilitate clinical evaluations as well as the sales references
  • Implementation and development of all related supportive materials to position and market our Clinical Value parameters

 

Your responsibilities:

 

The Clinical Marketing Manager will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of acute clinical settings and practices (ICU, theatres, A&E, general wards) to provide effective professional clinical leadership to the UK business through the following functions:

 

Leadership and Talent Management

  • Lead the team of eight clinical application specialists (CAS) who are responsible for the configuration, implementation, training and ongoing clinical support of Mindray patient monitoring and life support products.
  • Fully implement a strategic action plan for the development of CAS team for efficiency activity of before and after sales
  • Manage the team’s performance and development through KPI setting, regular in-field meetings, shadowing, feedback, coaching and performance management processes.
  • Prioritise workloads and solve and resource conflicts when required to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient use of resources.
  • Develop a knowledge management strategy, identifying individual and team skill gaps to ensure business resilience and continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork, building a culture of trust and empowerment through measurable and achievable goals, fair and open expectations and clear accountability.
  • Work with both Sales & Marketing Managers in the monitoring and analysis of product performance against plan
  • Active participation in sales and marketing training
  • Educate and train sales team for medical and scientific knowledge of the product
  • Introduction of new & strategic products to customers (focus products and products relevant to local market)

 

 

Clinical Application Strategy

  • Develop and implement the clinical support and training strategy, aspiring to provide innovative and industry-leading clinical advice, support and training to customers.
  • Work with CAS team and product managers to devise training strategies and approaches for new product introductions.
  • Standardise working practice, to reduce variation, improve efficiency and drive consistent quality of the service. Identifying variation in team practice and cause analysis.
  • Work with the project manager to allocate resource to key projects; measuring and reporting the service delivery.

 

Clinical Corporate Support

  • Lead on the UK management of adverse clinical events involving Mindray products. Investigating clinical incidents which result in customer complaints to provide timely reports to customers and Mindray’s global clinical team.
  • Provide clinical support and advice to R&D and product management colleagues to help develop new products or features, facilitating in-field customer research or clinical testing if needed.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop customer studies which evidence the measurable impact Mindray products provide to caregivers and patients.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to advise on clinical aspects of marketing materials.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing team for new product launch and promotion

 

Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) Development

  • Develop and establish networks of KOL in the different specialists to further facilitate clinical evaluations as well as the sales references
  • Implementation and development of all related supportive materials to position and market our Clinical Value parameters
  • Working alongside the Marketing Manager to manage KOL relationships.
  • Support in the creation of KOL engagement activities to help drive the Mindray brand.

 

The role will also involve some occasional in-field support (no more than 15%), working alongside the CAS team to deliver operational activities.

 

What are we looking for in you?

 

  • Experience of managing a field based clinical team of 5+ direct reports
  • Experience of patient monitoring products
  • Nursing Degree or with equivalent clinical experience
  • Evidence performance management experience
  • Natural leader working to achieve shared objectives
  • Commercial experience in a similar role
  • ICU, Theatre or A&E experience highly desired
  • Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence, tailoring management style
  • Showcases inspirational people leadership with strong levels of influencing
  • Coaching experience highly desirable
  • Showcase previous project organisation skills
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Credibility and gravitas expected of a leader at this level
  • The ability to travel in the UK up to 70% of the time is required.
  • Fluency in English – both written and verbal
  • Ability to demonstrate right to work in the UK without company sponsorship
