Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and reconciling accounts. This role requires a high level of organization, proficiency in accounting software, and a strong understanding of financial principles. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability and integrity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Record all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner using accounting software. This includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll transactions, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Process Payments and Invoices: Process invoices for payment, verify billing accuracy, and issue payments to vendors. Handle accounts receivable by generating invoices, recording payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide financial reports to management as needed for decision-making purposes.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets. Track expenses, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay up to date with financial regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Prepare and file necessary tax forms and reports in a timely manner.
  • Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as required.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Skills, Knowledge, And Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
  • Experience with US bookkeeping is a plus.
