Your missions

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and CCI compliant CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 diagnosis coding assignments on approximately 1800 cases per month of multi-specialty surgical cases for Ambulatory Surgical Center clients.
  • Field coding inquiries from clients in a timely manner by researching authoritative sources and providing accurate answers.
  • Manage time efficiently and consistently meet 24-48 hour coding turnaround deadline, in addition to follow up on pended cases for physician query and/or cases pending for other documentation.
  • Stay current on CMS, AMA, and ICD coding news and updates via attendance to internally hosted education calls and other third-party educational webinars.
  • Maintain current organizational coding certification by obtaining required annual CEUs from AAPC and/or AHIMA.
  • Adhere to AHIMA’S Standards of Ethical Coding


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years surgical coding experience preferred
  • CPT Coding Certification from AAPC or AHIMA
  • ICD-10 Proficiency Certification
  • General knowledge of excel
