Tilray Medical is building the leading global medical cannabis company with an infrastructure to support the thousands of patients across Europe. In line with our strategic plans for these businesses, we are seeking a visionary, hands-on, commercially driven Managing Director for Europe, reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and Head of International (“CSO”). The successful candidate will have experience in high-growth, dynamic CPG and/or Pharmaceutical sectors and possess a suite of skills related to leadership, P&L management, commercial planning and execution, marketing, and operations/continuous improvement.

Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and operation of the companies supply chain processes, including providing direction, leadership, planning, and change management oversight to the Planning, Inventory and Procurement.

The Supply Chain Manager provides direction to the Procurement Team to purchase goods and services that meet quality requirements and specifications at the most favorable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the demand planning, forecasting, contract negotiation, development of purchasing policies and procedures for ensuring the availability of the necessary finish goods products according to the demand planning needs, as well as all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process, release scheduling of inbound raw materials and components, and ensuring adequate stock levels for production requirements in all EU entities.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a European demand plan, integrating both EU production sites and third parties supply in the same plan;
  • Be the point of contact for the sales team and the production team acting as an intermediate;
  • Managing the logistic activities to include plant scheduling, purchasing, inventory management;
  • Create and clearly communicate supply schedules, priorities, and status to multiple internal and external stakeholders;
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable and reliable analytical tools, dashboards, and metrics that drive key decisions and resource prioritization;
  • Provide ongoing, overall, contract performance management against the performance-reporting mechanisms and develop as needed, KPIs;
  • Serve as a key member of the Supply chain team in helping to define and deliver complex supply chain strategies, inventory control and cost control programs;
  • Lead in the development and execution of sourcing strategies for group supply, arrangements that deliver value at local, regional, and global levels through emphasis on life cycle cost reduction;
  • Understand the technical requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal technical teams to guide the direction of activities and problem-solve production issues that will impact our supply chain;
  • Work with relevant central and site management and commercial stakeholders to establish demand from annual business plans and forecasts;
  • Produce written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders to help shape solution design;
  • Handle multiple projects at once, deal with ambiguity and rapidly-changing priorities;
  • Establish and maintain appropriate and accurate inventory levels,
  • Analyze fluctuations in demand and capacity, and liaise with suppliers to ensure supply capacity is committed and matched to demand requirements;
  • Ensure compliance with policies, standards and procedures governing the procurement and delivery of products and services for assigned product categories;
  • Conduct assessments of the potential supply management group sourcing categories, initiating and coordinating quality data from operations necessary to determine the related value and benefits to the organization; and prepare preliminary value propositions / business cases that support requests for endorsement;
  • Provide oversite on inventory needs assessments based on operational needs and inventory levels;
  • Developing and maintaining effective cost control measures and maintaining departmental budget;
  • Promote integration, at a site level, of EU Master Plan;
  • Identifying relevant training needs and training opportunities for all levels of staff.


Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management;
  • 5+ years' progressive experience in a Supply Chain/Logistics Management role, Procurement or Materials Management;
  • Experience with purchasing, production planning, logistics and inventory management for products coming from processing plants;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of supply management ideally with a balance of experience in planning, sourcing, managing and improving and sustaining processes;
  • Strong planning, negotiation and delegation skills, with exceptional oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories;
  • Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills;
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and key business partners;
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently;
  • Excellent time and project management skills;
  • Available to travel
  • Fluent in English
