Your Role: Veterinary Product Consultant, Mixed Animal

As a Veterinary Product Consultant, Mixed Animal, you will be a critical member of Elanco’s US Customer Experience Team. In this role, you’ll leverage your veterinary expertise to provide gold-standard customer support and product stewardship across Elanco’s extensive product portfolio. You will play a key role in managing customer inquiries, investigating Adverse Drug Events, and ensuring top-notch support for farm animals and pet health products, including parasiticides, therapeutics, vaccines, and feed additives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert veterinary support for Elanco’s farm animal and pet health product portfolios, including parasiticides, vaccines, therapeutics, and feed additives for companion animals, cattle, poultry, and swine.
  • Investigate and document potential Adverse Drug Events and Product Quality Complaints with attention to regulatory and quality compliance.
  • Collaborate on product support projects such as writing and reviewing technical reference documents, delivering product training, and supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to the veterinary technician team, while handling escalated calls and providing top-tier customer service.
  • Occasionally represent Elanco at local, state, or national veterinary meetings and provide after-hours/weekend phone support on a rotational basis for the contract call center.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: DVM/VMD degree required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in private, corporate, or academic veterinary medicine.
  • Professional Certification/License: Documented veterinary licensure in one or more U.S. states is required.
  • Top Skills: Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service and regulatory compliance, plus proficiency in capturing clinically relevant data.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):

  • 5+ years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine.
  • Experience working with or providing veterinary care for farm animals; Any type of farm animal exposure
  • Previous experience as a technical consultant in a regulated veterinary call center environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and ability to perform data capture within a validated database.
  • Ability to resolve customer inquiries with effective conflict resolution and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Up to 10%, including overnight travel to local, regional, or national company or veterinary meetings.
  • Location: Global Elanco Headquarters - Greenfield, IN - Hybrid Work Environment / Remote, US.
  • On Call: Limited after-hours/weekend telephone availability to support contract call center is required on a rotational basis (Only 2 weeks out of the year).
