The practice works with national and international insurance companies, Lloyd's syndicates, and reinsurers across; Commercial Casualty segments with additional technical capabilities in Crisis Management and Product Recall.

Job Description International Casualty And Crisis Management Loss Adjuster

To provide day-to-day loss investigations, adjusting, marketing, business development, and claim management focused on low volume high severity (+$10MM), Casualty, and Crisis Management, claims for Charles Taylor Adjusting - Casualty, and Crisis Management Practice

Responsibilities

  • To receive instructions on new complex losses from UK, European, USA, and Latin American Markets requiring already acquired specialist knowledge in known classes of business and reports to Managing Director Casualty and Crisis Management with recommendations for personal intervention in following the terms and particulars of such instructions.
  • To carry out a pre-agreed Brief relating to the specialist loss adjusting assignment under consideration and to report to Managing Director Casualty and Crisis Management upon completion and during the execution of the Brief but only when professional guidance is required. Such assignments may be performed as a desktop project or may require domestic or international travel at short notice.
  • Assist the existing practice with inflow of new losses and claims management projects requiring specialist knowledge and experience (Losses typically $10 to $50 Million and Larger).
  • To assist the practice with occasional special projects that may fall outside the sphere of standard loss adjusting, such as reinsurance reviews, coverholder audits, expert witness intervention, fraud investigation, and other consultancy assignments.
  • To review specialist assignment or project-related advise the team on relevance to the case under consideration and make recommendations accordingly where the nature or particulars of the assignment require technical input and specialized knowledge.
  • To assist the Charles Taylor US Adjusting Practice in identifying new business opportunities and acquiring new accounts through accompanied and unaccompanied marketing.


Job Description Continued

  • To communicate with Underwriters, reinsurers, and brokers to ensure that customer service standards are met and maintained at all times.
  • To ensure compliance with reporting deadlines and delivery of other time-sensitive materials.
  • To assist the practice team with any other operational or administrative issues associated with caseload on an as-required basis, especially in those classes of business where specialist knowledge and previous professional experience acquired before joining CTA.
  • To assist the practice with marketing and business development, including attendance at designated meetings, seminars, and conferences, including, but not limited to, reinsurer and broker events during the annual February Miami reinsurance week.
  • To assume responsibility for their portfolio of complex claims (30 to 40 cases of typical losses over 10 Million) and other consultancy assignments to be case managed by his/herself under the mentorship of practice Leadership or another designated senior adjuster, according to the nature of the project.
  • To build up an Underwriter, Reinsurer, and Broker client base developed from managed cases, client contact, and attendance at meetings and events.


Qualification

The individual will be responsible for meeting personal development, teamwork, marketing, and invoicing targets, which are jointly intended to enhance the performance of the individual and result in benefit to Charles Taylor Adjusting and clients.

The position also involves meeting with senior personnel within insurance, reinsurance, and broking organizations accompanied initially by other practice senior adjusters. Still, subsequently, such arrangements may be unaccompanied, subject to satisfactory progress within the position.

  • The successful candidate must be proactive and able to work with management guidance and demonstrate self-driven initiative after that.
  • Demonstrate good personal management and manage the workload relating to various cases and marketing projects simultaneously.


Oral Communication

  • Excellent oral communication skills in English for dealing with clients, Insureds, and brokers.
  • Value-added Spanish or Portuguese beneficial given assignments are arising in LATAM and the Caribbean.


Written Communication

  • The post holder will be responsible for preparing reports and other written communications in English


Problem Solving

  • The position requires the ability to deal with various tasks and deadlines simultaneously, recommending practical solutions within the scope of the level.


Job Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge of insurance, reinsurance, and loss adjusting principles in Casualty classes
  • Direct background with low-frequency high severity casualty loss adjusting - values north of $10 Million.
  • Exposure to Crisis Management and Product Recall losses of parallel scale and scope
  • Knowledge of the local insurance industry in the USA and selective LATAM and Caribbean territories, and the London Market.


Interpersonal

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills coupled with executive presence demonstrate the ability to influence at all enterprise levels.


Travel

  • travel within the USA and overseas frequently at short notice to investigate claims and attend critical meetings across existing & new assignments and business development opportunities


Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree level or higher
  • five years' insurance and reinsurance international adjusting experience.
  • The candidate must hold a Florida driver's license and passport from country of nationality
  • Acquire or hold a Florida State 620 All Lines Adjuster license


Pursue continued education to maintain the license and study for any additional professional qualifications deemed necessary by the company.
