Job Description

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Cloud Financial Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud-related financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting. The Cloud Financial Analyst must possess a blend of financial expertise and a solid understanding of cloud services, enabling them to provide strategic insights and recommendations for cost management and financial efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and analyze cloud expenditure across various platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure budget adherence. Implement strategies to optimize cloud spending.
  • Develop and maintain cloud budgets and financial forecasts. Collaborate with IT and cloud management teams to ensure accurate budget planning and forecasting.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on cloud costs, usage, and financial performance to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.
  • Review and manage cloud service agreements and vendor contracts. Ensure compliance with contract terms and negotiate terms as necessary to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Utilize financial and cloud usage data to perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and scenario modeling. Identify patterns and provide actionable insights to enhance financial performance.
  • Work closely with IT, procurement, and cloud operations teams to align financial and operational goals. Provide support and guidance on financial matters related to cloud services.
  • Develop and implement financial processes and controls related to cloud financial management. Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting methods.
  • Communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Provide training and support on cloud cost management best practices.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience in cloud financial management or cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, financial modeling tools). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud cost management tools (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth) is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Experience with cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and address financial issues proactively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
