Your missions

Role Summary

Our client is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join their team. This role combines the responsibilities of SQL development and reporting specialization to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and insightful presentation of data. This role possesses strong SQL development skills, expertise in data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, a deep understanding of ETL processes, and experience with both cloud and on-premises environments.

SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

Essential Functions

Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
Conduct thorough data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information
Work with cloud and on-premises databases to extract, transform, and load data efficiently
Write, edit, and enhance complex SQL stored procedures
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues on time
Design and develop interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau
Develop robust data models to support reporting requirements, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
Utilize DAX and SQL to optimize data models for performance and usability
Perform comprehensive testing and validation of reporting solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to business requirements
Identify and implement performance optimization techniques to enhance report performance and responsiveness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals, to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide updates, address issues, and present findings
Document data models, report designs, and technical specifications to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation
Provide guidance and support to team members on data engineering and reporting best practices

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience as an SQL Developer with a focus on data validation and ETL processes
Experience in developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau
Strong proficiency in SQL programming, DAX, and database management
Solid understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
Experience with both cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and on-premises database systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality data solutions
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
