Sales Manager Rail - Global Rail Unit / Thermo King

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our dynamic team and drive direct sales within the Global Rail Business

As the Sales Manager for Global Rail, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, maximize profits, and increase market share within the rail industry. With a focus on driving direct sales, this role requires a strong background in the rail sector and a proven track record of successful sales management.

The role reports directly to the Global Rail Commercial Leader.


Job Responsibilities


Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth and increase market penetration within the rail industry in the EMEA region.

  • Identify and target key customers, including rail operators, OEMs, and system integrators, to maximize sales opportunities and expand the customer base.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closing, ensuring timely and successful delivery of solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and marketing, to provide exceptional customer support and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, and use this knowledge to identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers to promote our brand and solutions.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management, analyzing market trends and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to showcase our products and services and enhance our industry presence


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of previous work experience in direct sales within the Rail HVAC industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the rail sector.
  • In-depth understanding of the rail industry, including knowledge of key players, market dynamics, and industry standards.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on delivering customer-focused solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel within the EMEA region as required.
  • Fluent level of English and German or French are required.
