We’re determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals – and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

Description:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Reinsurance and Runoff Reserving Team in the analysis of latent liability exposures, emerging torts, asbestos and environmental (A&E) accounts, and potentially uncollectible reinsurance.  This is a individual contributor role, with opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of reserving practices within the team as well as across the reserving department.  The position requires strong communication skills, with emphasis on discussing individual accounts with the claim and legal teams and opportunities to present findings to senior claim, legal, and actuarial management.

The nature of the analysis varies from projecting reserves using traditional triangle-based approaches to building individual account models to quantifying the collectability risk of ceded reinsurance balances.  In this position, one can learn more about latent liability exposures, the allocation of large losses across a coverage chart of potentially applicable primary, umbrella, and excess layers, and the estimation of collectable reinsurance for a modeled exposure.  The subject reserve studies have a high profile, as historically results have had material impacts on the company’s balance sheet and C-Suite officers regularly expresses interest in the development of mass torts.

·Use both top-down and bottom-up methods to estimate reserves
·Communicate with Claims, Legal, and others to help to develop a reserve range for individual, large, unique exposures
·Develop innovative and creative projection methods where little or no historical data is applicable
·Performing specific mass tort reserve reviews and reporting out results to leadership
·Analyzing the provision for future re-assumed reinsurance and reporting out results to leadership
·Projecting portions of the asbestos and environmental (“A&E”) reserves
