Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Data/BI Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and business intelligence, with specific expertise in Google BigQuery and Looker. As a Data/BI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and BI solutions that drive our data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines and ETL processes using Snowflake.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and implement BI solutions using Looker to create dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Optimize and manage data storage and retrieval processes to ensure data integrity and performance.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources and systems.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across all BI solutions.
• Provide training and support to end-users on the effective use of BI tools and solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering, BigQuery, and Looker technologies.

Qualifications:

Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or BI Engineer, with a strong focus on Google BigQuery and Looker.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data warehousing concepts.
• Strong knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with dataflow concepts and tools, such as Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache NiFi, or Apache Beam.

Technical skills: 

• Experience with data modeling, database design, and data integration.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Soft skills:

• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to staying informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
• Willingness to be you, show you care, and solve problems.

Bonus skills:

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Relevant certifications in BigQuery, Looker, or other BI tools.
• Experience with Google Cloud platform services. 
• Knowledge of other BI tools and platforms (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau).
