Job description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) seeks to drive business value through Talent Management initiatives while supporting the VP, Talent Management in defining & executing on the regional Talent Management strategy. They act as a trusted adviser to designated business leaders and business functions on all people related matters. The HRBP uses data and insights to proactively address key challenges facing the business and will collaborate with Talent Operations, Education Services, Workplace Experience, DEI, and Global Talent Practices to seamlessly implement key Talent Management solutions.  

 

The HRBP will work with Global Talent Practices to design and implement solutions to business unit leaders that will balance business needs and ensure a great people experience. They will champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) across the MRI business, ensuring DEIB is embedded within the MRI DNA.  

 

As a HRBP based in the UK you will be able to work from home 2 days per week and you will be based in our London, UK office 3 days per week. RESPONSIBILITIES:   

 

  • Act as trusted adviser to designated leadership and business groups and the VP, Talent Management, providing day to day guidance and participating in management meetings. 

  • Work closely with assigned leadership and business groups to build and positively impact people culture and engagement, including reviewing Employee Engagement Survey (Culture Amp) feedback and making recommendations for improvement. 

  • Consult with designated leadership to establish key business requirements as it relates to our people. Develop relevant solutions to address key challenges using data and insights both from our internal data and using external research and best practices. 

  • Partner with leadership and provide input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning, talent reviews, management training & development needs, employee engagement issues, etc. 

  • Lead Talent Management programs & projects including succession planning programs, development plans, career mapping & planning, listening programmes, compensation banding, 9-box & compensation reviews, talent reviews, continuity and risk assessment and others as required.  

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal/employee relations (ER) requirements and actively supports the business in reducing employee/legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the Legal department as required. 

  • Provides day-to-day HR Policy guidance and interpretation, as well as performance management guidance to management (coaching, career development, top talent development, retention, disciplinary actions).  

  • Manage complex ER cases independently and also will ensure handover of ER/Disciplinary performance management to a Talent Operations Partner as required. 

  • Actively champion the Talent Management model; partnering with a global HRBP team and ensuring appropriate hand off and or inclusion of relevant Talent Partners, and provide support and/or lead miscellaneous TM projects as required by the broader team.  

  • Supports the global and regional Talent Team on shared employee engagement initiatives such as event planning & attendance, conducting training, DEI, etc.

  • Understand and embed DEIB objectives with the departments/organisations/functions/ business units supported 

  • Partner with the DEI Committee and Employee Resource Groups as necessary.  

  • Embed DEIB values in Talent Management activities. 

  • Partner with the departments/organisations/functions/business units supported to reinforce our diversity commitment. 

 

PRE-REQUISITES: 

  • Sound business acumen. 

  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management; influencing skills. 

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Sound HR knowledge and experience, ability to understand and get to the heart of business issues and develop high value talent management initiatives to address these. 

  • Demonstrated change management and organizational design experience.  

  • Sound knowledge and experience with Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Succession, Talent, and Workforce planning as well as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles.  

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or; 

  • Advanced degree in Human Resource Management, Organisation development or Business is strongly desired. 

  • Minimum 3 years of HRBP or similar management experience required; preferred 5+ years.
