Job description

Who We Are

At Gretel, our mission is to build the world’s first developer platform for synthetic data. Our platform solves the data bottleneck problem for developers, data scientists, AI/ML researchers and product teams across tabular and natural language data types. Gretel's APIs automatically fine-tune AI models to generate synthetic data on-demand while protecting privacy and maintaining the utility and accuracy of the original data. Designed by developers for developers, our APIs make it simple to generate anonymized and safe synthetic data so you can preserve privacy and innovate faster.

We’re a highly collaborative remote-first company with employees across the U.S. and Canada. Our innovative and transparent culture offers employees the autonomy, tools, and trust to act like owners. We’re disrupting how organizations innovate with data and are looking for a Head of Product Marketing to join our mission.

The Impact You'll Have

Gretel is looking for a strategic Head of Product Marketing to drive and scale product adoption for our synthetic data platform and APIs. You will help our customers and users understand the value of and how to use Gretel’s products, including integrating them into workflows and data pipelines. You’ll help us highlight how safe, synthetic data can be used for AI projects, including evaluating and fine-tuning AI models while maintaining privacy.

In this player/coach role, you’ll lead a small-but-mighty team, collaborating cross-functionally across the company to drive the positioning & messaging, enterprise solutions content, customer success stories, competitive intelligence, product release & launch plans, sales and partner enablement content, and product pitches for our products. You will understand how Gretel fits into the ecosystem of developer tools, APIs, and MLOps, and be able to clearly position Gretel’s offerings to technical end users and enterprise buyers alike. You care equally about quality, execution, and teamwork, and are excited to work at a startup. You're intellectually curious, willing to try new things, and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines.

  • Lead product launches and release updates with the goal of driving product adoption and usage by enabling existing customers and new users for their enterprise AI use cases.Understand our enterprise customers & users. Create, segment & refine ICPs and personas by understanding user requirements, pain points and compelling AI use cases for synthetic data.

  • Become a market expert. Develop an understanding of AI product development workflows, how developers work with data, MLOps, and where our products fit, especially with our cloud service provider and AI infrastructure partners. Become an expert on the synthetic data market as it emerges through market analysis, user research, competitive intelligence, and evolving ecosystem dynamics.

  • Craft & refine messaging & positioning. Develop creative messaging for our enterprise buyers, create narratives for each stage of the customer journey, clearly differentiate Gretel against our competitors, and communicate value to our audiences and analysts/developer influencers

  • Help create the voice of our products. Collaborate with Gretel’s co-founders and cross-functional teams to develop creative, compelling narratives for our audiences (e.g., for ABM campaigns, website, blogs, workshops, webinars, customer stories, GenAI / synthetic data reports, and other external facing content).

Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant product marketing experience with an AI developer-focused B2B SaaS product or services built and available in a public cloud

  • 2+ years of people management experience leading teams of 5+ employees

  • Experience marketing Generative AI, machine learning (ML), and/or data tools to technical, developer users, especially co-marketing with cloud-service provider and AI infrastructure partners

  • Experience working at product-assisted and/or sales-influenced growth companies, especially with enterprise customers and ABM campaign targeting

  • Experience creating new, persuasive narratives and measuring customer & user sentiment to discover effective pathways across enterprise user/buyer journeys via customer and cross-functional product & sales stakeholder interviews and internal metrics/analytics

Nice To Have
  • Experience working with customers in the finance, healthcare/life sciences, and/or public sector; familiarity with common pain points around regulatory requirements and data compliance specific to these industries

  • Degree in computer science, statistics, or similar preferred; previous experience in a hands-to-keyboard AI/ML technical role preferred
