Fund Operations and Compliance Consultant

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fund Operations and Compliance Consultant to join a highly successful Venture Capital firm. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient administration of venture capital funds, maintaining data integrity, and supporting fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fund administration, expertise in financial instruments such as SAFEs, and a strong commitment to data quality and compliance.

This is a 3+ month contract opportunity, paying between $100-$120/hr (depending on experience). The position is 100% remote but candidates must be located on EST hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fund Administration: Manage and oversee all fund administration activities, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Fundraising Reports: Assist in the preparation and management of comprehensive fundraising reports, delivering accurate and timely information to key stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on data within the Limited Partner (LP) Portal to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Data Management: Perform detailed data verification and manage document postings within both internal and external systems.
  • SAFE Agreement Review: Review and interpret terms in Simple Agreements for Future Equity (SAFE), with a focus on post-money valuation caps and the accurate conversion of SAFEs into equity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fund administration, venture capital, or a related financial services role.
  • Strong understanding of SAFEs and other early-stage financial instruments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Proficiency in fund administration software and LP Portals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial agreements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
