Position Responsibilities

Team Management & Leadership:

• Hire, develop and retain top talent.
• Manage, mentor, and develop team members and team leaders, ensuring high performance and growth.
• Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Manage and lead geographically distributed teams effectively and efficiently with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  
  
  

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the VP of Engineering and other senior leaders to align technical initiatives with company objectives.
• Partner with the product management team to define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product re-write, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Partner with the project management team to help oversee and drive the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance.
• Partners with the shared services group that is responsible for building out core application framework services
• Maintain successful peer partnerships with other department leaders in engineering and cross-functional teams (Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Alliances, etc.) to ensure transparency and alignment on project goals & progress, and deliver a successful outcome.
  
  
  

Technical:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles.
• Stays up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and across the broader development organization.
• Experience in migrating a monolithic product to a cloud-native microservice architecture.
  
  
  

Delivery and Quality:

• Utilize Agile SCRUM methodologies to establish repeatable predictability and manage and deliver efficiently and effectively.
• Development of engineering processes and procedures to drive efficiency and continuous improvement
• Leverages a customer-centric and end-to-end service delivery mindset in the design and delivery of the software product to drive high levels of customer satisfaction and adoption
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices to deliver high quality in all work, such as BDD, TDD, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, code reviews, automation, etc.
• Develop, measure, and manage key metrics for overall team and product performance.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in a leadership role within a software product company.
• Strong technical expertise in SaaS, Java and microservice architectures.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale modernization projects and creating new versions of legacy products.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead geographically distributed teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic technical decisions.
• Agile project management skills with experience in SCRUM.
• Experience managing managers, senior managers, or directors.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  
  
  

Compensation Information

US Citizenship Required for this position

The U.S. salary range for this position is $117500.00 - $176250.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
