Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented professional who thrives on resolving complex financial matters? As an Overpayment Recovery Specialist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and processing Social Security decisions for accuracy, ensuring proper payment and preventing overpayments.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thorough reviews of Social Security decisions, award notices, and dependent benefit calculations to identify and resolve any overpayments
  • Initiate phone calls to the Social Security Administration to follow up on post-entitlement issues and clarify details
  • Communicate effectively via email with long-term disability (LTD) carriers to obtain overpayment calculations and facilitate repayment from claimants
  • Review overpayment calculations received from LTD carriers and validate the accuracy of the amounts
  • Facilitate the repayment process with claimants, ensuring a positive customer experience
  • Utilize strong decision-making skills within the defined scope of the role to efficiently process a high volume of transactions

Qualifications

Minimum education: HS diploma or equivalent

Required Skills And Experience


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, to create and manage detailed spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset to identify and resolve complex financial discrepancies
  • Comfortable making phone calls and providing exceptional customer service


Preferred skills and experience: Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Prior experience in a financial or customer service-oriented role is preferred.
