JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Integration Services and Data management, the Data Integration Engineer II will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable integrations. This position supports all integration and data management-related services. They will also be a key contributor in maintaining and enhancing the Identity management solution.

Enterprise Cloud Systems & Integration Services supports applications and initiatives across WPI, including Workday and Salesforce. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the Enterprise team, working closely with other developers and business users to identify, develop, and implement modern and robust integrations, data management, and Identity management solutions. This senior-level role will also serve as a mentor to other developers and promote industry standards and development best practices.

The is a remote position and the salary range is $82,600 - $103,300, based on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support complex integrations between various enterprise applications (i.e. Workday and Salesforce).

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using cloud technologies such as SnapLogic (IpaaS), SQL, AWS, Informatica, and PRISM Analytics.

  • Promote extract-transform-load (ETL) standards in alignment with industry best practices.

  • Independently execute end-to-end integration projects, including requirements gathering, development, testing, and production support.

  • Design, model, create, and maintain an optimal data architecture that supports business intelligence reporting and analytic solutions for the university.

  • Assist with data management-related projects, including the retirement of legacy application data and implementation of new data systems.

  • Understand and maintain WPI’s end-to-end ID generation process and identity management solution (Informatica MDM).

  • Provide platform support for technologies like AWS, Snaplogic, and other tools required used by the team.

  • Collaborate effectively with functional users and IT staff to create data collection and consumption plans that align with the university’s priorities.

  • Create mappings to move data from source systems into the enterprise reporting and analytics environment.

  • Provide on-going support for integrations.

  • Prototype options for new application integrations to ensure the best integration approach is taken.

  • Perform code reviews and code migrations.

  • Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to other data integration engineers.

  • Understand all university data privacy policies and ensure that solutions implement appropriate security controls and models.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

  • Experience with analysis, design, development, testing, implementation of integration solutions using cloud integration/ETL tools and technologies, such as Snaplogic and Informatica.

  • Understanding of XML, JSON, APIs, and web calls.

  • Experience with Informatica MDM preferred.

  • Knowledge of AWS resources like Redshift are preferred.

  • Knowledge of Workday APIs preferred. Experience with Workday cloud connect, EIBs, Studio, and Extend/Orchestrations preferred.

  • Ability to write SQL scripts and procedures.

  • Data warehousing experience is preferred.

  • Workday Prism experience is preferred.

  • Ability to translate business functionality to technical requirements.

  • Ability to recommend and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practices.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills.

  • Manage multiple assigned tasks/projects with minimal supervision.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with diverse teams across all levels.

  • Higher education experience preferred.
